INSIGHTS ON DEBT FINANCE, INVESTMENT FUNDS, AND SPECIAL SITUATIONS

We’re two young professionals with a shared interest in the legal and financial sides of things - particularly where law and finance meet: investment funds, debt finance, and special situations. These are legally intensive areas, as many readers will know, and we draw from both our academic and professional experience to explore the topics we find most relevant and thought-provoking for anyone working in or curious about these fields.

While there is already extensive writing on the financial side of these topics, far less attention is given to the legal dimension—which we believe is of interest to both sides: for finance professionals, given the legal structures and constraints surrounding many transactions; and for legal professionals, where commercial awareness is increasingly valued and expected. With this in mind, we invite readers from both backgrounds to engage with our discussions.

We’ve also chosen to remain anonymous, so the focus stays entirely on the ideas themselves—free from assumptions, credentials, or distractions. The aim is to strip away subjectivity and let the substance speak for itself.

Before we begin—as any responsible writer might add, and beyond the traditional caveat emptor in case any topic tempts an eager reader into a any sort of transaction—our writing should never replace qualified professional advice tailored to your specific situation. That said, this doesn’t diminish the thoughtful perspective we aim to offer to the interested reader.

We hope you enjoy the articles, discussions, and reflections that will follow.

Sincerely,
D. & A.
